new tiller

We have purchased a new tiller this year.  We bought a Husqvarna h900drt.  We will let you know soon how well it works.  We have wanted a good quality tiller of our own for a long time, this will allow us to take our time and do a thorough job tilling.  The more completely you till the soil the easier time you will have with your garden.  Having our own tiller will also allow us to till as the crops are finished and again in the fall.  This really helps keep unwanted weeds from getting entrenched in your soil.  The tiller we bought can be shifted to run the tines in forward or reverse.  With this beast at our disposal we hope to have our garden in very early this year.  With a little help from the weather we may be able to till this week.  Nothing says spring like the backache you get from the weekend of tilling.  Don’t forget to get your beds set up and ready to go.  So far we have a rhubarb bed.  This year we are adding asparagus, dill, cilantro, and lavender.  These are great for the small gardener.  Like black berries you can set them up once and get many years of growth from them.
