what a year

Wow, so finally back to the extensive blog about our garden.  I am thinking of all the really good things to write about our garden.  We have sunflowers that look nice.  We also have had a wonderful drought that has stunted everything else.  The drought has been so bad here that even the flowers that generally like hot dry weather did not start growing until this week.  Our yard and bushes are all brown and crispy.  We are on a well so we can only water so much, which leaves our garden as a stunted green oasis.  We have been able to get it just enough water to live but not enough to thrive.  That is even with our very thick mulch.  I hope yours is doing much better.  As I write this it is raining, so there is hope of a late harvest.
